Setting up TVPikoma on Android TV, one step at a time

1. Start the Play Store

   Go to the home screen and open Google Play. Google TV models tuck the store inside the Apps tab, and its search bar works from there. Make sure a Google account is signed in, because the Install button stays hidden otherwise. On an older box it also helps to let the store update itself first, which prevents strange download errors.

2. Pick TiViMate or IPTV Smarters Pro

   Type TiViMate IPTV Player if you want a scrolling grid like a cable box. Choose IPTV Smarters Pro for a free layout built from large tiles. Before pressing Install, look at the developer shown under the app name, since imitation players copy both the titles and the icons of the real ones.

3. Connect the TVPikoma account

   In TiViMate, press Add playlist and select Xtream Codes. In Smarters, press Login with Xtream Codes API. Key in the server URL, username and password exactly as the WhatsApp message shows, with http:// kept at the front and the port kept at the end. Remote keyboards are fiddly, so read the address back once before moving on.

4. Let the list and listings arrive

   The opening sync gathers every channel, film and programme entry, which may need a minute or two when the connection is busy. TiViMate then asks you to name the playlist, so call it TVPikoma. That label becomes useful if a relative later brings their own login and adds it as a second playlist on the same box.

5. Keep your countries, hide everything else

   A catalogue of 25,000+ channels browses much faster once it is trimmed. In TiViMate go to Settings, Playlists, select TVPikoma and open Manage groups. Hide the groups you never visit, then move the countries you do watch to the top. Add home news, religious programming and favourite serials to Favourites so they appear first.

6. Align the guide with your time zone

   Programme times normally follow the box clock, yet some guide sources run early or late. In TiViMate, open Settings, EPG, EPG sources, pick the source and change Time offset. In Smarters, the matching control is EPG Timeshift in Settings. Move one hour at a time until what is listed as on now matches what you see.

7. Enable frame-rate matching

   On Google TV, go to Settings, Display & Sound and switch on Match content frame rate. TiViMate has its own Auto frame rate switch under Settings, Playback, which should be on too. Broadcasts made at 50 fps, the norm across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and South Asia, then play without the faint stutter caused by a locked 60 Hz signal.

8. Choose a menu language for the household

   On Google TV, go to Settings, System, Language to display the menus in any language the device offers. Most players adopt that choice when they include a translation. In a bilingual home, choose whichever language the least confident reader prefers. Channel names themselves never change, because they come from the broadcaster exactly as sent.

9. Catch up on programmes that aired overnight

   Time differences mean a favourite show from home may broadcast while you sleep. In IPTV Smarters Pro, the Catch Up tile lists channels that keep an archive. In TiViMate, Premium lets you scroll back in the guide on those channels and play a past programme, or record a future one to the box or a USB drive.

The player is missing from Google Play

Low-cost boxes frequently run the phone version of Android, and that hides TV apps from the store. Use Downloader to sideload the APK as the Firestick guide explains, or install the phone build of IPTV Smarters Pro, which most boxes let you steer with a remote.

The TV guide stays blank

Allow the first guide download a few minutes, then start a manual update from the player settings. An Xtream sign-in supplies the guide address automatically. If your player still requests a separate EPG link, ask TVPikoma support for it on WhatsApp.

Channels stutter or look jerky

The box is likely outputting 60 Hz while the broadcast runs at 50 fps. Turn on frame-rate matching both in the Android menus and inside the player. Put 4K viewing on Ethernet, and close background apps on boxes with 2 GB of memory or less.

Hidden groups keep coming back

Deleting a playlist and adding it again creates a brand new playlist, so every hidden group returns. Edit the existing TVPikoma playlist rather than re-adding it. When a group is renamed on the server, hide the new name once and the choice sticks from then on.

The box runs out of storage

Guide data for many countries takes space, and cheap boxes ship with little of it. Open the Android settings, go to Apps, and clear the cache of players you use. Uninstall preinstalled apps you never open. If recordings live on the box, move them to a USB drive.

A channel plays in the wrong language

Several channels broadcast more than one soundtrack. During playback, open the player menu and pick the audio track you want. TiViMate and Smarters both offer this where the stream includes extra tracks. If only one track exists, the broadcaster supplies just that language.
